Thanks to the generosity and support of Ms. Burch, every student went home with a book! What a fantastic way to build our students’ love of reading!
🎉 Wacky Wednesday Fun
Our last Wacky Wednesday was a huge success! Thank you to Anna Chaney and the Presbyterian Church for hosting after-school activities once a month. Your partnership makes a big difference!
📚 Migrant Conference Highlights
Mrs. Maldonado and I recently attended a Migrant Conference where we learned powerful strategies to better support our families, including:
Vocabulary building
Relationship-building
Student engagement strategies
Open communication and transparency
“Campfire discussions” and visual aids
School etiquette for newcomers
Creating a welcoming committee
Encouraging families to feel empowered
Using books to connect and spark conversations
Fostering a warm, inclusive culture for all
We are excited to bring these ideas into our school community!
🏆 Battle of the Books
Students in 4th and 5th grade participated in the Battle of the Books at Goddard High School on Saturday, April 26. They worked hard all year, reading 15 books in preparation! We are thrilled to share that one of our ES students was on the 1st place team—congratulations!
📝 State Testing Thank You
Thank you for ensuring your children came to school each day during state testing. This data helps us plan instruction and interventions for the next school year. I am confident our students did well!
