Learning Through Activity at Dexter Schools

Dexter High School is organized around six Career Pathways.  In the Automotive Technology Program of Study, Baxter Benedict demonstrates how to change oil for the School Board. With this presentation, Baxter has earned the opportunity to compete at the national level in Skills, USA.

The Elementary School believes in healthy bodies as well as healthy minds. Mrs. King joined in the fun as students and staff participated in a morning of activities to promote health and nutrition.

The Shoot for $100 Contest at the Mid School is motivation for students to have perfect attendance for a month.  This year for added fun and incentive, teachers participated.  If the teacher made the basket, students in that class received a free 100 grade.  Students looked on as Mrs. Trammell gave it her best shot!

Mrs. Parsons spent a day in April with elementary students sharing her “Learning Safari” in Tanzania with each grade level. Viewing maps, the globe, and pictures in a PowerPoint presentation, the students were very interested in the lives of children in Africa. They carefully studied artifacts brought back from the trip and asked many good questions.
