Dexter Schools plans to use Live@edu Email For Staff and Students Available August, 2010
Microsoft [Live@edu] is a free suite of hosted Microsoft services and applications that help students in using the Internet space for collaboration on campus, in the classroom, and in their daily lives and personal activities. Primarily addressing students' needs, Live@edu also helps alumni, staff, professors, and other stakeholders working within the educational institution. The Live@edu program provides education institutions with a set of hosted collaboration services, communication tools, and mobile, desktop, and web-based applications, as well as data storage capabilities. The Live@edu suite includes Microsoft applications that help user collaboration including: Office Live Workspace, Windows Live SkyDrive, Windows Live Spaces, Microsoft SharedView Beta, Microsoft Outlook Live, Windows Live Messenger, and Windows Live Alerts. The Live@edu suite is part of Microsoft Education Solutions. It is regularly updated with features and new services that enable education institutions to expand the set of services they offer their students. The Live@edu suite is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux and can integrate with existing educational institutions directories. For some parts of the service, Internet Explorer on Windows is required.
